    The Irving Animal Care Campus (IACC), 4140 Valley View Lane, is waiving adoption fees for pets adopted by military personnel May 22-26 to thank them for courageously serving the United States.

    This special adoption offer is available to all U.S. military — active duty and veterans with a valid military I.D. The IACC is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Adoptions must be processed 30 minutes before closing.

  1. Red Cross Lifeguard Class

    May 24, 2018 - May 28, 2018 @ North Lake Natatorium

    Want to learn skills that will help you save lives? Become a certified lifeguard.

    Prerequisite: Minimum age 15. Successful skills test, which includes 300-yard continuous swim; a 10-pound brick retrieval from 7 to 10 feet depth of water followed by a 20-yard return carrying the brick; and treading water for two minutes without using hands. Test must be completed one week before class or must have instructor approval.

    Successful completion of the course will result in American Red Cross Life Guard/First Aid, CPR-Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications.

    Dream Courts are top-quality, multipurpose play spaces built in underserved communities so children have a safe area to shoot hoops, socialize and learn about teamwork and good sportsmanship.

  1. Irving Concert Series 4 Kids

    This fun music series is designed specifically for our smallest attendees. The Irving Concert Series 4 Kids brings live entertainment to toddlers and preschoolers! These Friday morning concerts feature fun performances by popular children's entertainers. Children ages 5 and under are invited to sing, dance and learn at these interactive shows. Limited covered seating is available, and attendees are encourage to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Restrooms are available on-site; smoking is prohibited. Parking and admission are free to all shows; all children must be supervised by an adult. In the event of inclement weather, shows will be moved to an indoor location.
