Join Irving for the Fourth of July parade and fireworks celebration.
This year, the annual parade will begin at 9 a.m. July 4 in downtown Irving and will loop around Irving Boulevard beginning at Sowers Road. The parade will be followed with a concert and free watermelon in Heritage Park, 217 Main St. The concert will feature Leo Hull and The Texas Blues Machine. The theme of the Independence Day Celebration is “A Star-Spangled Celebration.” Parade coordinators are challenging the community to depict parade floats that honor American heroes and historic accomplishments. The parade entry form is available online at IrvingEvents.org. Entry form deadline is June 20.
All participants are required to submit a parade waiver, which also is available online.
The evening concert and fireworks begin at 6 p.m. at 601 E. Las Colinas Blvd. The celebration features performances by the Las Colinas Symphony Brass Quintet and popular party band Downtown Fever, followed by a 20-minute fireworks display at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Fun Zone offers ways to stay cool, with free water attractions including an obstacle course, giant slip-n-slide and multiple water slides. Swim attire is not required, but do not forget a towel. The event also includes a large food court. Event parking is $10 at participating area parking garages; admission is free.
